Social Investment

We support the Aus Liebe zum Menschen Foundation of the Red Cross.

The “Aus Liebe zum Menschen” Foundation supports social cohesion through a variety of projects, offering assistance to disadvantaged individuals. One of the foundation’s key focus areas is education. Every year, around 8,000 socially disadvantaged young people in Austria complete their education without a compulsory school diploma.

This is where the 12 learning centers across Austria come in: with personalized tutoring and leisure activities, children and young people are supported in overcoming educational disadvantages and developing a positive attitude toward learning and work. The children are guided by professional educators and volunteer helpers, and the program aims to help them discover the opportunities and paths life has to offer.

Together for a Fairer Society

Social issues play an important role in sustainable investing. Socially and ethically sustainable investments promote positive change and the development of our society. After all, the “S” in ESG is a central aspect on the path to a livable and sustainable future. That’s why we support the “Aus Liebe zum Menschen” Foundation and its contribution to the well-being of society.

Visiting the Learning Center

During a visit, Heinz Bednar, CEO, and board member Thomas Kraus were able to witness the valuable work of the Vienna Learning Center. Together with Michael Opriesnig, Secretary General of the Austrian Red Cross, and his deputy Peter Kaiser, they spent a few hours with the educators and children, even helping out with some tricky homework assignments.

To mark the 60th anniversary of Erste Asset Management in 2025, two new sofas as well as learning and writing materials were donated to the children and young people at the Learning Center.
