Alternative investment funds (AIFs)
The abbreviation for alternative investment funds is AIF. These funds are subject to different rules than UCITS public funds. They have less stringent investment limits. Two laws apply to them:
- Investment Fund Act 2011 (InvFG 2011)
- Alternative Investment Fund Managers Act (AIFMG)
AIF public funds can also be sold in other European countries. They must comply with the laws of the respective country. Selling abroad is more expensive and has stricter rules than for UCITS funds. Investors can find important information on the website:
