ERSTE STOCK GOLD is a global equity fund. It invests primarily in shares of companies operating in the gold sector. Gold mining shares are heavily dependent on the price of gold. When the price of gold rises, producers earn more. Their profits then increase disproportionately. However, if the price of gold falls, this can also have disadvantages.
The price of gold often rises when the geopolitical situation is uncertain. Since 2022, international central banks have been buying more gold. They want to reduce risks and diversify their reserves. These purchases may further support the price of gold. However, the geopolitical situation can change at any time. Please note: Investing in securities offers opportunities, but also involves risks.

Key areas of the fund
The fund invests in various areas of the gold sector. The strategy adapts to the respective market phase. Please note that there are risks as well as opportunities.
The focus is on medium-sized gold producers. The portfolio also includes developers and explorers. Learn more about the various areas.
Producers actively promote and sell gold. Their profit comes from the difference between production costs and the current gold price. When the gold price rises, their profits can increase disproportionately. However, this leverage can also have disadvantages.
Developers develop mines and want to become producers. They work to bring mining projects into the production phase. Developers with proven reserves and sources of financing can be attractive takeover candidates. This can reduce risks and increase value.
Explorers search for gold deposits or already possess resources that have not yet been developed. Their goal is to find economically viable deposits. Small explorers with proven deposits and sources of financing may also be takeover candidates.
Royalty/Streamers do not engage in gold production themselves. They finance mines and receive shares of production or royalties in return. This model offers exposure to the gold sector with less operational risk.
